The David John Middleton Cemetery is located in Duplin County, NC on SR 1107, 0.3 miles SW of the intersection wiht SR 1903, on the east side of the Johnson & Eason Cemeteries. The address is 279 Johnson Church Road, Warsaw, NC 28398. It measures 54 feet by 82 feet (4428 square feet).
The cemetery has a fence around it that was possibly erected in the early 1900's. the gate has the name "Middleton". There are 41 gravesites according to the records at the Duplin County Historical Society. One of the earliest to be buried in this cemetery is Catharine C. Middleton, wife of David j. Middleton, who died on September 30, 1852. Approximately 25 individuals were buried here in the 1900's.
There are four large magnolia trees in the cemetery. This makes it a cool place in the summer, even on the hottest of days. There are also a concrete table with 3 benches and 4 long benches, which give those who visit a place to sit and rest. Plantings added in recent years include six white crepe myrtles at the end of the cemetery, dwarf gardenia bushes and others.
To access the cemetery, one must park on the side of the road and walk a short distance to the cemetery, which is located in a grove of trees. The cemetery is not visible from the road.
